We will continue to update our privacy policy over time and will maintain this page, so our users are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.

Community Action Marin reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. Information Collection and Use

Your information is collected and processed, based on your consent, to fulfill your purchases and/or donations, information and involvement requests, and to keep you up to date on our work and issues that are important to you, to maintain and expand our relationship with you and other supporters, and for our other legitimate purposes. See more details below.

When you visit the site, we collect your information in the following ways:

Information You Give Voluntarily

WHEN YOU SIGN UP TO RECEIVE OUR EMAILS

Additionally, we may use your information to reach out to you online through social media channels and online advertising.

WHEN YOU SIGN UP TO RECEIVE OUR TEXTS

When you provide a phone number and consent to receive our texts, you will receive messages to act, stay informed, join us for events, and support work to promote equity and provide pathways to self-sufficiency for those in need in Marin. Additionally, we may use your phone number to text you regarding emergency situations in our county.

WHEN YOU FILL OUT A PETITION OR ONLINE FORM

Throughout our website you might submit your information through various actions such as sending a message of support, signing a petition, completing a survey, registering for an event, cause marketing, peer-to-peer fundraising, and communicating with us through other forms. Information collected may include your name, email address, physical address, phone number, and other personal information you share with us.

WHEN YOU MAKE A DONATION OR PURCHASE

To make a donation or purchase, such as purchasing an event ticket, on this website, a user must first complete a donation or order form, on which the user must provide contact information (like name, email, and physical address) and financial information (like credit card number and expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes, to fill supporters’ orders, generate tickets, and to provide donation receipts.

This information will be used to send a tax receipt (if a donation is made) or purchased items, and relevant materials and outreach through the mail. If we have trouble processing an order or donation, this contact information can be used to get in touch with the user. We use a credit card processing company to fulfill orders using that payment method. The credit card company does not retain, share, store, or use personal information for any secondary purposes.

WHEN YOU COMMUNICATE WITH US ONLINE

Sometimes we request, collect and/or retain information when you communicate with us online, which may include your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and other personally identifiable information you share with us. For example, you may ask us to update your contact information or request information about how to make a gift through development@camarin.org.
