Addressing the real and varied needs of individuals and families

Get started with Community Action Marin

Services

At Community Action Marin, we help individuals and families meet their basic needs and get on a path to self-sufficiency and thriving. The agency’s Whole Family Approach works to ensure that needs are met and outcomes at the individual, agency, and community levels are achieved to strengthen well-being. We are a community action agency dedicated to the fight against poverty. The array of services we provide promote racial and economic equity by addressing the real and varied needs of individuals and families who lack the income to be self-sufficient.

Your voice leads our work. We listen and learn, offer services and programs in response to community needs and insights about what makes community stronger. Our Community Needs Assessment (CNA) is a roadmap built on surveys and experience. It reflects our findings, strategies, and planned programming covering agency offerings such as emergency assistance, childcare, economic mobility services, housing, and food justice. This plan is what will guide us for the next two years in creating better outcomes. To learn more, download our Community Needs Assessment Summary or take a look at our Interactive Dashboard.

Get our Resource Guide

Every year, Community Action Marin publishes a comprehensive list of local resources for Marin residents. Compiled with a special focus on programs serving those with low incomes, this guide plays a vital role in connecting people with services. This helps them thrive and knits a closer safety net of support among the various agencies serving Marin County.

Marin is a tale of two cities. Those that have a lot in their pockets and those that don’t have enough. Community Action Marin helps to bridge that divide by providing the services that people really need to thrive: affordable child care, food, help to pay utility bills, rent support, housing assistance, homeless outreach, and so much more. They embody the spirit and practice of fairness and opportunity for all.
