Food Entrepreneurs Find Home at Our Central Kitchen
Posted on Category General, Stories

The Central Kitchen is a home away from home for small businesses and rising entrepreneurs looking to make their mark in the food industry. Community Action Marin provides a rental commercial kitchen as a base of operations, with availability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you’re looking to rent space or gain a commissary, let us help you be part of our community schedule!

Located at 4308 Redwood Highway #100 in San Rafael, the Central Kitchen is a 2,000 square foot facility, one of only a few commercial kitchens in the county. The facility offers stainless steel countertops, convection ovens, cooking utensils, dry storage, and refrigeration, among other amenities. It is also available for dry storage and other potential uses as space permits.

As space permits, the kitchen is available for either one-time (minimum of eight hours) or long-term tenancy.  Agency staff are available weekdays from 6am to 2pm.

What Tenants Are Saying

“In October 2021, we moved from baking our artisan, 100% organic granola in our home kitchen to the Community Action Marin Central Kitchen. With the friendly support of the staff and Kitchen Manager Jose Rodriguez, we had a smooth transition and were able to not just preserve the handmade, high quality of our granola, but also improve the productivity by enhancing the process using the expanded workspace and multiple professional convection ovens. We feel we are now well positioned to grow even further in 2022 and beyond. Thank you, CAM!” Sally Li, Owner, Chantelle’s Granola
