Rental & Eviction Resources & Information

Rental Assistance

Community Action Marin proudly serves as the coordinating agency for the Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund in Marin County. When funding has not been fully utilized for the year, the Chronicle Season of Sharing Fund can provide short-term, one time financial assistance with rent or mortgage and security deposits for those experiencing housing instability and have exhausted other resources and support from family, friends, and other organizations. The maximum amount of assistance provided is $5,000. Payments are made in the form of a grant directly to the supplier of services, such as the landlord.

We are currently taking applications for Season of Sharing, prioritizing those who:

  • Have an eviction notice/pay rent or quit notice/late notice or foreclosure
  • Have not received rental assistance from our agency in the past (ERAP, COVID-19 Relief, other rental assistance programs)
  • Are currently unhoused  and in need of a deposit to move into safe, sustainable long-term housing

For individuals and families who are facing an unforeseen emergency and cannot access food resources, they may be able to receive an Emergency Food Box in partnership with the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank. This box includes a supply of non-perishable food as well as information about the Food Bank.

Please email our Community Supports team with questions and to learn more about Season of Sharing or Emergency Food Boxes.
