Early Education Will Be on the Ballot This November
Big news! Marin voters will have the opportunity to strengthen early education across the county, giving more children—particularly children from families of low-income—the chance at a strong educational start.
“Every child in our Marin community deserves access to high-quality early education,” shares Chandra Alexandre, CEO at Community Action Marin. “For families, a mixed-delivery system where they can choose their child care provider is key. Whether home-based, center-based, or part of a family child care network, CAM’s teachers are helping children learn and families get to work and school. Through this ballot initiative, we are recognizing what their hard work makes possible for all of us and ensuring a strong future for Marin children for generations to come.”

Join us in congratulating our newest Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Training graduates!
Each graduate completed 80 hours of training to prepare for a career supporting people through mental health and substance use recovery. As a state-approved training provider, Community Action Marin is proud to help train the next generation of behavioral health workers—people who bring lived experience, trust, and hope to their work. HOUSING JUSTICE
A Safe Place to Call Home
Joe experienced homelessness in Novato for two years. During that time, he connected with Community Action Marin’s Housing Justice team. Our case managers stood in his corner, helping him apply for affordable housing while navigating countless setbacks.
Now, after two years of perseverance and dedicated support from CAM staff, Joe has a place to call home and a safe space to sleep at night.
“Every time I witness someone being housed after a long period of waiting, it grounds me,” shares Ashlyn Artis, Director of Housing Justice. “A key, a safe place to sleep, and a community standing beside us are things we should never take for granted.”
A heartfelt thank you to CAM’s case managers for their ongoing commitment to their clients. Their dedication, persistence, and compassion make stories like Joe’s possible, as they continue standing alongside people until they are safely and securely housed.
