Here are five outstanding volunteer organizations in the San Anselmo-Fairfax area.
1. Access4Bikes: Dedicated to maintaining access to mountain biking trails in Marin County, Access4Bikes hosts regular volunteer events to build and improve bike trails. This organization also empowers its members to advocate for mountain biking with local officials. Volunteers with Access4Bikes can assist with events, trail maintenance, community outreach and more. 2. Community Action Marin: This organization seeks to remove barriers in order to empower community members to be able to support themselves. Community Action Marin offers services for children and families, such as assistance with rent, utilities and food. Learn more at camarin.org.
3. Friends of the Fairfax Library: Providing support to public libraries in Fairfax, this volunteer organization encourages literacy by promoting the library’s programs, events and materials. 4. Fairfax Area Agency on Aging: With several ways to get involved, this organization seeks to connect older adults with services to support their independence. Volunteer Fairfax: Aiming to connect people with meaningful volunteer opportunities, Volunteer Fairfax maintains a broad network of nonprofit organizations to make it easier for volunteers to support causes they care about.
