At Community Action Marin, we believe that those closest to the issues are best positioned to shape the solutions. Our Parent Leadership Council (PLC) brings that belief to life.
The PLC is a dedicated group of parent leaders representing families across our Children and Family Services programs. In partnership with our Board of Directors and staff, they help guide policies and practices that support not only children, but whole families—because strong families build strong communities.
Through regular meetings, PLC members provide vital feedback that strengthens our wraparound early childhood services, keeping our work grounded in family experience and community wisdom.
Parent leaders also receive training in advocacy and leadership. This year, four PLC representatives brought Marin voices to Sacramento for National Head Start Advocacy Day—calling for the resources and support all families need to thrive.
The PLC is creating meaningful, lasting change in Marin.
As the school year comes to a close, we extend a heartfelt thank you to this year’s Parent Leadership Council.
