PG&E has extended the moratorium on disconnections for non-payment of services through June 20, 2021 (previously April 30). The following protections have been implemented:
- Continue to suspend disconnections for non-payment, waive deposit and late fees for residential customers.
- Deposits for residential customers who are moving into a new residence will be waived for a period of one year.
- Freeze recertification and income verification for current CARE (California Alternate Rates for Energy) program participants for 12 months.
- Implement payment plans for all residential customers*
*Current CARE customers may be eligible for PG&E’s “AMP” program. AMP will match customer’s payments up to a total of $8,000. CARE is an income-eligibility program and new CARE customers could be eligible for AMP. Residential customers who do not meet income eligibility requirements would be able to make a payment plan, but would not qualify for matching payment program.
