Forum on Federal Funding Cuts Reinforces Realities & Resilience
Despite uncertainties and looming threats regarding federal funding, our commitment to supporting and protecting communities of low income and immigrants remains unwavering. For 60 years, Community Action Marin (CAM) has stood with key partners across sectors to do the work of helping people and changing lives. We continue to take meaningful action together to meet people’s needs across Marin.
Last week, CEO Chandra Alexandre joined sister leaders at the Federal Funding Cuts Forum convened by First 5 Marin to deepen understanding of how recent federal cuts are impacting children, families, and others we call friends, loved ones, and neighbors. Panelists highlighted how the new federal budget will impact us all and what it will take to build a stronger future together.
Community Action Marin provides ongoing support to people who need it most by ensuring essential programs and services remain available, by advocating for policies that work for people of low income and immigrants, and by joining with others to push for investment and create efficiencies that leverage every dollar.

GROWING STRONG
Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise Raises Over $15,000 to Keep Essential Services Thriving
A heartfelt thank you to the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise for raising over $15,000 at their recent Oktoberfest celebration in support of Community Action Marin!
Beyond the joy of polka dancing and festive attire, the evening fostered meaningful connections and honest conversation about the realities of poverty and homelessness here in Marin. Our Director of Housing Justice, Ashlyn Artis, shared information about the over 2,000 Transitional Age Youth (ages 18–24) in our county who are unhoused or at risk, and how CAM’s wraparound programs and partnerships are helping them to find stability and belonging.
We’re deeply grateful for the Rotary Club of Novato Sunrise’s continued support and commitment to building a Marin where everyone has a place to call home. Thank you!
