The Step Up Community Fund was launched in March 2020, just as shelter-in-place was becoming the new normal and people started to feel the economic impact of the shut-down. We know the pandemic has disproportionately affected people of color, immigrants, and low-wage workers.
With your financial support, our agency is able to provide:
- Meals to over 100 families each day through our Central Kitchen.
- Immediate help to people through our Rapid Rehousing and Cash Assistance emergency programs.
- Support for six classrooms of preschool children, including those of essential workers, children who are at risk, in foster care, or who have special needs.
- $100,000+ in emergency funding to older adults.
- Mental health support on over 650 calls in May taken through our Warm Line in English and Spanish.
By making a donation to the Step Up Community Fund, you are helping to create stability for many families during this difficult time, like Marin resident Yesenia Carreto, and her three children Anna Sofia, Francisco & Tomás, who received financial help for food and household supplies.
Make a tax-deductible gift of any size today and know that your gift will provide services and resources to those most impacted by the pandemic, helping people to not only meet their most basic needs, but also to support themselves on the road to self-sufficiency. Let’s do this together!
Thank you for your support!
A Powerful American Dream
Across the country, inequity is growing, the wealth gap widens, and more and more Americans are struggling to keep pace with rising costs and the changing landscape of work. Yet in our county, we have unparalleled resources, and many people just like you are stepping up to make a public commitment to eradicating the racial and economic injustices that persist. As a community, the time is now to support the American dream for all who live, work, play, and serve in our beautiful county.
Creating a Proof Point for Equity
“I have never believed more in the power of what’s possible than I do at this agency. In times like these, with so much at stake for people of color and low income, we must do all that we can to change how we do business and what we fight for together. I am proud to stand in solidarity with community and colleagues for an equitable Marin County.” – Chandra Alexandre, CEO
