We’re in This Together for All of Us

Responding to the fierce urgency of now.

Step Up Community Fund

Marin County is one of the wealthiest counties in the U.S., but the realities for some here are no different than in far less affluent places. Getting by and getting ahead have become hard for many residents and worse now in these difficult times. Even before the pandemic, for almost a third of families, just meeting basic needs meant living paycheck to paycheck. Did you know that 1/3 of families with children are forced to make difficult choices every day, sometimes between putting food on the table for their families or paying rent?

As economic uncertainty continues and the impact of the pandemic becomes clear in its inequities, the time for a us to act is now. Together, we are building momentum for a county ready to seize opportunities and make a difference for all of us as we plan for and co-create the better normal.

We’re for Marin, by Marin. Our agency is seeking to meet the needs of community today and work to increase its budget to $25M over the next decade. We want to diversify the agency’s funding base to better support the kinds of flexible funding that make truly responding as the voice of community possible.

Thank you for joining in support of all of us. We are stronger and more resilient together. Read our 2030 vision to see why our work matters toward creation of racial and economic equity in Marin County and be a part of the change.

Pop Up Preschool and Childcare for Essential Personnel

Community Action Marin is now accepting enrollment for its Pop-Up Childcare for Essential Workers.

In our commitment to ensure that essential workers have the child care support that they need to respond to this public health crisis, the agency is now accepting enrollment for children ages 3-5 at one of our San Rafael centers. For more information, download our flyer and contact our Enrollment Manager, Kelsey Lombardi at klombardi@camarin.org or 415-272-0555.

“We are so grateful to have found you! We are both physicians, and at the start of the COVID-19 shelter-in-place order we had to miss significant time caring for patients due to the lack of childcare. Fortunately, once we enrolled in the POP-UP DAYCARE PROGRAM, we were able to resume full-time patient care. Even more fortunately, this has been the best daycare our daughter has attended!

“The teachers have been wonderful and attentive, the office staff are organized and keep us informed, the hygiene and health screening practices have been excellent, our daughter has made a whole new group of friends from diverse backgrounds, and on top of all that the meal program has been a fantastic bonus (our daughter tries all kinds of new foods she would never be able to get in a packed lunch, and it’s one less thing my wife and I have to worry about as we focus on taking care of patients through this crisis).

“We have been recommending your program to every other parent we talk to, and already our daughter has been joined by one of her former classmates! Regardless of whether our daughter’s previous daycare re-opens, we plan to keep her at your center and could not be happier with the entire experience!”

“Samantha is telling us wonderful things about her teachers!”
