Enroll in our Kitchen Apprentice Program
Our Kitchen Apprentice Program trains and mentors those seeking a career in the food industry or entrepreneurship opportunities focused on food. The program will equip individuals with the knowledge and skills to develop and launch a small food business or to join the larger food and hospitality industry.
The Apprentice Program is a:
- A paid training program placement with food industry
- Chance to learn invaluable business and marketing skills needed to operate a food business at local farmer’s markets
- 20 hour on the job training program including food and personal kitchen safety, and knife skills.
At the start of the program, Apprentices will be matched with a “mentor”, a tenant from the Commercial Kitchen, who they will work with to create a mutually agreeable work schedule. Then, either before the program starts or during the first week, Apprentices must complete their ServSafe certification before working in the commercial kitchen, a requirement for those looking to work in the restaurant or food service sector.
